Giving the TMSFA and Interpreting Scores

By law, Texas Middle School Fluency Assessment (TMSFA) must be given to all 7th-grade students who failed the previous year's state test before the end of the 1st six weeks of school. All available data, including the Spring 2021 assessment, should be used to determine at-risk students. We must determine deficits in student reading using an approved reading assessment instrument. From the results of this assessment, a plan must be made for reading intervention to help each student read on grade level. This initial session will train teachers to give the TMSFA and discuss the meaning or interpretation of those scores. You may attend this workshop in-person or via distance learning.
