Our Available Programs
Advanced Academics
The Advanced Academics Program provides all members of our educational community with research-based professional learning opportunities. These sessions enable districts to meet the state requirements delineated in the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students. Educators also have an opportunity to receive up-to-date information provided by the Texas Education Agency as they collaborate and network through our quarterly Gifted and Talented Coordinator meetings.
CE3 Program
The Region One Center for Excellence (CE3) supports districts with establishing systems for effective Professional Learning.
Emergent Bilingual Support Program
The Emergent Bilingual Support Program provides professional development and technical assistance for districts implementing the state-approved Bilingual and ESL programs. The goal of our program is to offer innovative and high-quality services that are designed to advance the progress and performance of Emergent Bilingual students.
Mathematics Department
The mission of the Region One ESC Mathematics Department is to: - Support, serve, and promote effective math education - Assist all stakeholders in various forms of involvement in mathematics - Adhere to both national and state standards - Encourage and facilitate the highest level of mathematical proficiency attainable by learners. We implement state projects, deliver training/support to improve teaching and learning, and collaborate with you to help teachers help students succeed. Whether sessions are delivered at a Region One ESC site or one you have chosen, you know you can rest assured of the highest quality experience!
Reading Language Arts Department
The mission of the Region One ESC Reading Language Arts Department is to support, serve, and promote effective literacy practices to our local educational agencies so that every student is prepared for the literacy demands of college and /or career by high school graduation.
Science Program
The Region One Science Program supports, serves, and promotes effective, interactive science instruction to ensure every student can demonstrate a deep understanding of science and transfer their learning.
Social Studies Program
The Region One Social Studies Program supports, serves, and promotes effective, relevant, inquiry-based social studies instruction, so every student can apply geographic and historical thinking skills and achieve high levels of excellence in social studies.
Texas Available Materials
A growing body of research points to the positive impact high-quality instructional materials can have on student learning.
TEA defines high-quality materials as those that ensure full coverage of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS),
align with research-based instructional strategies in each subject area, support all learners, and include:
-Progress monitoring through embedded, aligned assessments
-Implementation support
-All teacher- and student-facing resources needed for instruction
Texas Instructional Leadership
Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL) A TEA state initiative and Vetted Improvement Program (VIP) that provides training and support to campus and district leaders on their ability to build the capacity of educators through a distributed leadership and transformational model.
Texas Reading Academies
House Bill 3 (HB 3), passed by the 86th Texas Legislature in June of 2019, requires all kindergarten through third grade teachers and principals to attend a "teacher literacy achievement academy." Region One is an authorized provider of the Texas Reading Academies for teachers and provides comprehensive cohorts for ELAR, Biliteracy, and STR certified teachers.
