Insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes are becoming increasingly common among both students and staff, yet many individuals remain undiagnosed. In this session, participants will gain a practical understanding of insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes, common risk factors, early warning signs, and the potential impact of these conditions on health, behavior, attention, and academic performance. Educators will explore ways schools can support prevention through healthy habits, recognize when concerns warrant medical evaluation, and implement classroom practices that promote student success while reducing stigma. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to support the overall well-being and learning outcomes of the school community.
