The Perfect Pair Social Studies and Literacy for Elementary

Participants will engage in activities aligned to the Social Studies and RLS TEKS, as well as learn strategies for reading cross-curricular Social Studies passages. Additionally, in this session, educators will learn how to positively impact instruction and student learning by embedding reading and writing into daily instructional routines. Incorporating literacy into Social Studies classrooms not only provides students with the opportunity to grow their academic vocabulary and build background knowledge but also provides students with the tools they need to be good citizens in the future.
