Beyond Foundations: Implementing New ELPS and Monitoring Language Development Growth (IDA DIAZ JR HIGH FLEXROOM)

This professional development session provides educators with a brief refresher of the newly revised English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) being implemented across Texas during the 2026–2027 school year and explore strategies to implement the standards in the classroom beyond foundations. Participants will explore instructional implications,ways to monitor progress using PLDs, and strategies for supporting emergent bilingual students through aligned language development practices.
The session will also highlight connections between the New ELPS and content instruction.
