Forces Unite!: Nurturing Calm: Mental Health Support for Students with Diverse Learning Needs

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This workshop is designed to provide educators and support staff with practical strategies to support the mental health of students with diverse learners. Mental well-being is crucial for all students, but those with learning challenges may struggle to communicate their emotional needs and experience heightened vulnerabilities to anxiety, stress, and social isolation.
Participants will explore tools and techniques to foster emotional regulation, promote social-emotional learning, and create a supportive classroom environment. The session will also cover strategies for building strong relationships with students, recognizing signs of distress, and collaborating with families and specialists to ensure a holistic approach to mental health.
Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, this workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to support the mental and emotional well-being of their students, empowering them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

NOTE:
1. This training is intended to build the capacity of district/charter school teachers and staff who work with students with complex needs.
