Supporting Executive Function Skills in Reading and Writing Development (Weslaco ISD SPED teachers only)

This session focuses on building the cognitive skills that underpin successful literacy learning, including working memory, attention regulation, planning,
and organization. Participants will learn how to embed executive function supports directly into reading and writing instruction through structured
routines, visual organizers, self-monitoring tools, and scaffolded practice. The session provides concrete strategies for helping students manage
complex literacy tasks while developing independence and metacognitive awareness.
