Beyond the Page: Integrating Reading, Thinking, and Writing in Dyslexia Intervention

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Reading comprehension requires intentional development, not incidental learning. For students with dyslexia and other language-based disabilities, strong comprehension grows when decoding, vocabulary, language, and writing are explicitly integrated through structured, systematic, and diagnostic instruction. This session presents practical, evidence-based strategies to help educators move beyond superficial questions and design lessons for deep understanding.
Participants will learn to guide students in analyzing text, monitoring meaning, and noticing comprehension breakdowns, while using sentence-level writing to strengthen organization and expression. The session emphasizes explicit instruction in grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, alongside scaffolded routines supporting students from reading to discussion to written response.
