Region One ESC offers expert assistance, information updates and high-quality training to support counselors, social workers, and other school staff members designated to ensure the mental health and wellness of the children in Region One ESC. If a session is missed, please request as soon as possible since recordings are only available for a certain period of time, if available ang only the virtual sessions. Please check the listings. First semester session are available until December 2022. Second semester sessions are available until May 2023. For more information contact This session provides an overview of cognitive behavioral therapy and it's application in the school setting and its effectiveness for many mental health conditions including anxiety and depression. Strategies and activities will be shared to help reduce challenging behaviors, improve learning outcomes and increase student engagement. Brief therapy is a type of counseling that is time limited and present oriented. Brief therapy focuses on the client's presenting symptoms and current life circumstances, and it emphasizes the strengths and resources of the client. The therapist in brief therapy is active and directive.
