Participants will engage in literacy activities aligned to the 3rd-5th Grade Science and Social Studies TEKS, as well as learn strategies for reading cross-curricular passages and writing short constructed responses. Additionally, educators will learn how to positively impact instruction and student learning by embedding reading and writing into daily instructional routines. Incorporating literacy into science and social studies classrooms not only provides students with the opportunity to grow their academic vocabulary and build background knowledge but also provides students with the tools they need to be stronger readers and writers across all content areas.
