Forces Unite: Using Visual Supports in the Self-Contained Classroom

Visual supports are one of the most powerful tools to use with students to promote understanding, engagement, positive behavior, and independence. Participants will learn how to incorporate visual supports across the classroom environment. We will explore visual supports for classroom routines and behavior support that will allow teachers to be proactive rather than reactive in addressing behavior concerns and challenges. A make-and-take session in the afternoon
will give participants a chance to create the visual supports so they can be implemented in the classroom quickly and easily.

NOTE:
This training is intended to build the capacity of district/charter school teachers and staff who work with students with complex needs. All participants must have an email address associated with a Region One district or charter school. All participants will be automatically placed on the waitlist pending verification that they meet one of the intended audience criteria.
