Throughout the 2024-2025 School Year, students with Visual Impairments from the Region One ESC area will be invited to participate in our first ever ART Exhibit for Students with Visual Impairments. Students will be invited to submit their final art projects for display at the Region One ESC Service Center. Students will visit the Exhibit and then have an opportunity to participate in various Sensory Art Activities. Sensory art is the exploration and creation of art with a variety of sensory items that encourages creativity and allows a person to explore and express themselves in a manner that is best for their personal needs. The goal is to create a multisensory experience, that appeals to sight, touch, hearing, smell, and sometimes even taste. This ECC Experience will allow students to work on their compensatory skills, social interaction skills, assistive technology, orientation & mobility skills, recreation & leisure, self-determination, independent living skills, and sensory efficiency skills.
