370783 "Lead From Where You Are"
8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
South Padre Island Convention Center - Exhibit Hall
Presented by Dr. Joe Sanfelippo as the opening keynote speaker: I’m just...It’s a phrase we hear all the time. I’m just a teacher, I’m just a paraprofessional, I’m just a custodian….the list is long and is often followed by reasons something CAN’T happen. Leadership is an action and it starts with you. Leading with INTENTION creates purpose. Leading with CONNECTION creates momentum. Leading with DIRECTION creates collective efficacy. Leading with all three in mind will build your capacity and foster an environment where everyone in your organization has the best opportunity to lead from where they are.

10:35 AM - 11:45 AM
South Padre Island Convention Center - Room 103
This year closes my first-year teaching and thinking about music resources for both ECSE and Life Skills. This new challenge brought on shame and made me consider the gap that exists in myself. I reached out through different channels to different specialists both in my field and beyond. What I share with you today are some resources I wish I had on day one of this new information. In today’s session, I will: 1. Hear the testimonio of a South Texas music educator’s experience with ECSE and Life Skills classes. 2. Wonder about the kinds of schedules I can show to my class/music teacher. 3. Wonder about the kinds of sensory videos I can create using Canva. 4. Wonder about interactive videos and play in Canva to create it. 5. Practice troubleshooting as a skill for…Instrumentation.
