Have you heard the WORD? Vocabulary is the missing link that can help increase students’ understanding and result in higher academic achievement in all groups and across the curriculum. It is intimately connected to effective skills in reading and writing which are fundamental to doing well in school.
In this first annual WORD Conference, the emphasis is on the Power of Words across the four content areas – English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Presenters include experts from the Region One ESC, area educators, and providers of existing services available to Region One area districts by state/local contracts. Plan to bring a team from your district to experience hands-on, interactive activities focused on addressing the needs of our diverse student population!
