Emergent Literacy for Young Children with Visual Impairments

Literacy begins at birth, but what is literacy? How might literacy differ for children with visual impairments? How do we, as teachers, foster literacy, language and concept development for our students?
This workshop will focus on emergent literacy, the skills children need to become readers, the hierarchy of skills that foster literacy along with activities and strategies to promote literacy in home and at school.
VI professionals, COMS, Early Childhood Staff, Families of young children
Workshop Fee will be charged to those who fail to show for a workshop.
