This session is ideal for the first year teacher! The 3-Day academy features specific information, techniques, and guidelines for each of the five components of reading. You will learn how to support a struggling reader by making adaptations to four core components in any lesson. You will learn how to evaluate a lesson you have planned, how to consider the needs of your students who struggle with reading, and make adaptations while maintaining alignment with the grade-level standards. You will learn how to highly simplified, but powerful differentiated instruction techniques. To register for this session you must commit to attending all THREE days - no exceptions. This session is for general and special education elementary staff but most beneficial for elementary special education resource teachers. Each teacher receives a notebook full of resources. There are 4 hours of optional homework with this session, allowing you to earn 18 to 22 CPE credits. Registration for this workshop is limited to teachers currently employed with a Region One school district or charter school.
