Pyramid Model-Intensive Interventions: Determining the Meaning of Challenging Behavior

This is Day 3a & 3b of the Pyramid Model Promoting Children's Success; Building Relationships and Social-Emotional Teaching Strategies. Teachers would need to have attended Day 1 & 2 of the Pyramid Model during this school year. This full day session will help participants understand the difference between PBS and traditional discipline approaches. They will be able to define forms and function of communication and identify the behavioral mechanisms that contribute to viewing challenging behavior as communicative. Participants will identify the steps of the process and describe strategies that may be used to prevent challenging behavior. They will be able to identify replacement skills that may be taught to replace challenging behavior and identify how to identify how to respond in a way that does not maintain or reinforce challenging behavior.

Early Childhood Teachers/ Specialists - Participants who previous attended Day 1 & 2 of the Pyramid Model on Oct. 10-11, 2019 workshop #119804 and Feb. 5-6, 2020 workshop #119805.
