Safe Reopen from a Cybersecurity Perspective

The new world order: Learning goes on! (Remote or in-person).
The world of today is full of new potential virus threats and social distancing; however, districts, schools, and teachers are still required to teach and deliver content to their students. Welcome to the new complex world of IT support. Remote (VPN or no VPN), hotspots, on-prem, cloud. The new normal… fly by the seat of your pants. Security is more important than ever. A great deal of effort is going into getting students the tools they need to continue learning (1:1 learning, Chromebooks, networks, connectivity, etc.). How much time are you spending on security? Is it simply coming along for the ride?

In this session, we’ll talk about safely reopening schools from a cybersecurity perspective. The do’s and don’t, must-haves and top recommendations to keep the network free of other types of damaging threats. In addition, we’ll discuss how to prepare if the network goes down from a virus attack and how to reduce your downtime. Learning must go on!
