***SA2 Initiative Cohort 2 LEA Participants ONLY*** Self-Paced Course
The Region One ESC STAAR Alternate 2 Initiative Pilot for the 2020-2021 school year was designed to provide technical assistance to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) who have more than 1 % of their students participate in the STAAR Alternate 2.
As a selected LEA, you have participated in targeted workshops addressing STAAR Alternate 2 participation requirements, writing quality PLAAFPs, and IEPs. This final module will focus on addressing inclusive education for students with significant cognitive disabilities. This module is based on the research of the National Center on Inclusive Education, the Institute on Disability/UCEDD, and the University of New Hampshire, as conducted by Cheryl M. Jorgensen, et al., 2002. This module is organized into three sections. Each section will cover five indicators of inclusive education, for a total of fifteen. Each module is set up with a presentation, resources to further extending your learning, as well as exit tickets. To ensure credit for this training, participants must register and complete the asynchronous activities delineated (surveys/exit tickets).
