HB5 College Prep Course Math (New Teachers Introduction)
HB 5 requires school districts to partner with at least one institution of higher education (IHE) to develop and provide college preparatory courses in math and ELA for 12th grade students who have yet to demonstrate college readiness, effective September 2014. Region One ESC, in partnership with RGV Focus and all five local area IHEs developed the two standardized, regional college prep courses, which became implemented in classrooms during the 2014-2015 academic school year. Participants should bring a laptop or other electronic device.
Secondary Math teachers who are first time HB5 CPC instructors.
Dean of Instruction, Counselor, Math Department heads, any other administrator delegated to support HB5 program at campus level.
