Nurse Leadership Academy is intended for school nurses for the purpose of developing leadership skills in an ever-changing work environment. The goal is to equip the nursing leadership workforce with skills necessary to support retention efforts of school health personnel. The following topics will be covered: (Session 1) Situational Leadership, (Session 2) Emotional Intelligence – Understanding Personalities, (Session 3) Conflict Management in the Workplace, (Session 4) Professional Written Communication, (Session 5) Leadership Etiquette, (Session 6) Building the Team. Effective leadership can lead to great teamwork, higher morale, job satisfaction, and productivity.

Trainings will be held only in person and will also allow time for collaboration and School Health Updates.

Training is in alignment with COVID-19 Public Health Workforce Grant as it equips new and existing school health personnel workforce in efforts of COVID-19 prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives, as well as provides information regarding incident management, health equity in schools, working with underserved populations, cultural competency, disease investigations, and additional learning needs as requested.
