Autism: Building a Foundational Structure for the School Year: Clarity, Design, and Visual Supports

When classroom structure and strategies are set up from Day 1, it sets the tone for student success and classroom management. In this back-to-school session, participants will learn the critical elements of classroom design to support a variety of student needs, whether in self-contained classrooms or inclusive environments. Participants will analyze the learning environment and the need to provide visual clarity to build independence, and walk away with an improved functional learning space that encourages prediction skills, supports transitions, and increases compliance. By incorporating physical structure, visual accommodations, and building routines, educators will find that they are redirecting less and focusing on skill-building more!
