A Step Toward Quality & Rigor--Development Guide to PLAAFPs, Goals & Objectives and Progress Monitoring for SWSCD

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

During this session, participants will go through the step-by-step process of creating high-quality IEPs for students with significant cognitive disabilities. IDEA 2004 requires that students receiving special education services have an individual education plan targeting their needs. When creating high-quality IEPs the ARD committee must review the student’s PLAAFP including the FIE and based on the student’s needs create goals and objectives that address the identified areas of need. This session includes a hands-on practice portion that requires PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE READY ACCESS TO A STUDENT PROFILE. Educators will: -Understand critical components of the IEP including PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives and Progress Monitoring Methods. -Apply the Quality & Rigor Rubric to the IEP’s PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring sections. MUST BRING A STUDENT PLAAFP & IEP TO SESSION -Create PLAAFPs, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring Methods that are rigorous and of the highest quality.
