2024-2025 Building Capacity Training (McKinney Vento 201)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Under the McKinney-Vento Act, homeless children and youth must have access to education and support services to ensure that they are able to meet the same challenging State academic standards as their peers. Additionally, districts must designate a liaison for homeless children and youth to ensure that identified children and youth successfully enroll and have the opportunity to succeed in school. Participants will receive training and technical assistance that support the goals and objectives of their McKinney Vento program.

Furthermore, SEAs, LEAs, and schools may not separate students from the mainstream school environment on the basis of their homelessness.
