This workshop is designed to provide special education teachers with a comprehensive understanding of their role in the development and implementation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) to meet the unique needs of each student while adhering to legal and ethical standards. Participants will delve into the critical components of an IEP, including student strengths, present levels of performance, measurable goals, accommodations, services, and progress reporting and monitoring.
Attendees will also explore best practices for preparing and documenting and collaborating effectively with families and other professionals to create IEPs that are both actionable and impactful. This session emphasizes the teacher's responsibilities in ensuring the IEP is tailored to support student success and aligns with compliance requirements.
