Math RBIS (Research-Based Instructional Strategies) Learning Sessions

The session will cover an overview to the Math RBIS (Research-Based Instructional Strategies). Participation includes gaining knowledge of the progressions through the components of an introduction to The Opportunity Myth, and the goals, cover how to pursue rigor by balancing conceptual understanding, procedural skills, and fluency. The utilization of Math content from an HQIM that aligns to and meets the rigor of TEKS for each grade level while concentrating time and effort on going deep on the most important topics and connecting concepts within and across grades. Participants will engage in discourse of of the importance of students engaging in productive problem solving, engaging in multiple opportunities for practice, discussion, representations, and writing that require them to explain and revise their thinking, while leveraging high quality instructional material (HQIM) and bettered assessments to drive instruction, and explore conditions for HQIM launch implementation.
