This specialized workshop is designed for homebound special education teachers who work with students with the most profound disabilities. This training focuses on adapting books into rich, sensory-based experiences that promote engagement, communication, and connection no matter the learner’s physical or cognitive abilities.

Participants will:
- Learn how to select and adapt books to meet the unique needs of students with significant multiple disabilities.
- Incorporate sensory-based objects that align with story elements to create a multisensory reading experience.
- Explore strategies for increasing participation through object symbols, tactile cues, and assistive technology.
- Practice building individualized book kits that can be used at home to promote literacy, interaction, and sensory exploration.
