Monster Mash Bash – A Spook-tacular STEM Day -A Two-Day Workshop for Teachers and Students with Visual Impairments

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Join us for a thrilling two-day workshop filled with STEM fun, hands-on learning, and Halloween magic! Monster Mash Bash is designed to blend the excitement of coding, circuits, and rovers with essential Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) skills, all through engaging, accessible, and inclusive activities.

Day 1: Teacher Training (Professional Development)
Educators will dive into the world of accessible STEM through interactive sessions where they’ll learn how to adapt and implement coding, robotics, and circuit-building activities for students who are blind or visually impaired. Focus will be on aligning these activities with ECC skill areas such as assistive technology, compensatory skills, and orientation & mobility.

Day 2: Student & Teacher STEM Experience - An ECC Event
Students and their teachers will explore a variety of spooky-themed STEM stations, including:

* Code the Haunted Maze – Program rovers through a sound- and texture-rich path using directional coding.
* Circuit Cauldron – Build simple tactile circuits with Halloween flair.
* Monster Bot Dance-Off – Create and code dancing robots in a frightfully fun challenge.
* Potion of Power Lab – Practice independent living skills through a sensory potion-making station.
* Escape the Haunted Lab – Team up to solve tech-based puzzles using Braille, audio cues, and collaboration.

Students will also practice ECC skills like self-advocacy, social interaction, and recreation in a fully inclusive, festive environment.
Costumes encouraged. Creativity required. Learning guaranteed.

Let’s brew up some STEM magic together at the Monster Mash Bash!
