Certified teachers are not required to complete this training. To avoid unnecessary registration and processing delays, please ensure that your certification is active prior to enrolling. If you are already a certified teacher and register for this training, your registration may be cancelled and may not be eligible for a refund.

A Comprehensive Training Program for Aspiring Substitute Teachers – ProSub is a two-part training designed to prepare participants with the practical skills needed to succeed as a substitute teacher in real classroom environments.

Part 1, Saturday, August 8, 2026 – asynchronous) Online course completed independently. No check in required.

Part 2, Saturday, August 15, 2026 – synchronous) Mandatory Zoom session from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants will attend a live virtual class session. The Zoom link will be emailed by the instructor the day before.

Participants will begin with self-paced online modules, building a foundation in classroom expectations, responsibilities, and essential strategies. The training concludes with a required virtual session. This session focuses on applying learning through interactive activities, real classroom scenarios, and hands-on practice to strengthen confidence and decision-making. This training is designed to be practical, engaging, and focused on real classroom experiences. Participants will leave the session with confidence and clear expectations needed to succeed in the classroom. Completion of both the online modules and the virtual session is required to successfully complete the ProSub training.

The instructor will email instructions the day before the online course begins with guidance on how to access and begin the modules. The modules are self-paced and may be completed on your own schedule, allowing flexibility to come and go as needed.

No refunds will be issued once registration is approved. We kindly ask that you review this policy carefully before proceeding with registration. To secure your spot, payment may remain pending until two days prior to the training. Finalize your registration to ensure your placement. If you are no longer able to attend, you may request to transfer to another scheduled session, subject to availability. All transfer requests must be submitted in writing to tesparza@esc1.net at least 72 hours before the scheduled start of your session.
