ABC's of Behavior (Edcouch_Elsa ONLY)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Understanding why students engage in certain behaviors is key to effective classroom management and schoolwide behavioral support. This session introduces educators to the ABC model of behavior—Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence—a foundational tool in identifying the function of behavior and responding proactively and positively.

Grounded in the principles of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), this session explores how to use the ABC framework to reduce challenging behaviors and increase desired behaviors through prevention, data-informed decision-making, and positive reinforcement. Participants will learn how to identify behavior triggers (antecedents), observe and describe behaviors objectively, and understand the consequences that may be unintentionally reinforcing the behavior.
