Sensory Smart: Practical Strategies to Support Regulation and Engagement

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Sensory needs play a critical role in how students with Autism and other developmental disabilities learn, communicate, and regulate. This training will introduce a variety of sensory strategies that support student engagement, calmness, and focus throughout the school day. Participants will explore kinesthetic supports such as movement breaks, yoga stretches, and classroom jobs that provide purposeful motion. The session will also highlight visual aids, fidget tools, relaxation techniques, and environmental adjustments (like lighting and sound) that help create a calming and responsive classroom environment. Teachers will leave equipped to recognize sensory signals and implement practical, classroom-friendly strategies that promote student success. #AUESC1 #LIDESC1
