Project L3 - Evaluation of Eras: Reconstruction to 1950 (Participating Districts ONLY)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This professional development session will focus on a pedagogical approach to teaching American history from the end of the Civil War through the mid-20th century. Teachers will explore how to move beyond a simple chronological review of events and instead, analyze the major social, political, economic, and geographic (PEGS) themes that shaped this era. Through an analysis into primary source documents—including letters, speeches, political cartoons, and laws—teachers will practice contextualizing historical events, identifying trends and changes over time, and reinforcing the skill of document analysis. Teachers will be provided with a framework for helping students understand historical cause and effect and see the relations of key moments like the Reconstruction Era, the Roaring Twenties, and World War II.BROOKS COUNTY ISD, JIM HOGG ISD, LA VILLA ISD, LA SARA ISD, LYFORD ISD, MONTE ALTO ISD, RAYMONDVILLE ISD, RIO GRANDE CITY GRULLA ISD, ROMA ISD, SAN ISIDRO ISD, SAN PERLITA ISD, SANTA MARIA ISD, WEBB CISD, ZAPATA COUNTY ISD).
