Project L3 - "Evaluation of Conflicts in the US History: Causation, Impact, and Beyond" (Participating Districts ONLY)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This session will equip educators with the tools to facilitate dynamic, inquiry-based discussions about major conflicts in US history. Teachers will move beyond surface level memorizing dates and battles to explore the complex causes, impacts, and lasting legacies of these conflicts. Through a hands-on activities, teachers will model how to build a historical inquiry around a specific event, like the French and Indian War, and develop compelling, open-ended questions that encourage critical thinking. Teachers will have the opportunity to select a conflict from a list that includes the American Revolution, the Civil War, and the Vietnam Conflict, and develop a complete lesson incorporating primary sources to foster a student-centered, discussion-rich classroom environment. The goal is to analyze historical evidence and construct their own historical arguments about the nature of conflict in the American experience.BROOKS COUNTY ISD, JIM HOGG ISD, LA VILLA ISD, LA SARA ISD, LYFORD ISD, MONTE ALTO ISD, RAYMONDVILLE ISD, RIO GRANDE CITY GRULLA ISD, ROMA ISD, SAN ISIDRO ISD, SAN PERLITA ISD, SANTA MARIA ISD, WEBB CISD, ZAPATA COUNTY ISD).
