Breaking the cycle: Equipping educators to prevent bullying

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This training equips teachers with the knowledge and tools to recognize, prevent, and address bullying in school settings. Participants will explore what bullying is, its different forms, and the serious impact it can have on students’ emotional well-being, academic performance, and the overall school climate. Emphasis is placed on early intervention and a unified, schoolwide approach.

The training also builds awareness of the many ways bullying can present itself, including subtle behaviors and online harassment, while guiding teachers to recognize warning signs in both victims and aggressors. Prevention strategies highlight the importance of creating a positive classroom climate, modeling respectful behavior, teaching empathy, establishing clear expectations, and maintaining open communication.

When incidents occur, participants will learn how to respond immediately and appropriately, providing support to victims, holding aggressors accountable while teaching positive alternatives, and involving parents when needed. Finally, the training includes opportunities to practice applying interventions through role-play scenarios, documentation exercises, and collaboration with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective follow-through.
