Supports for the School Counseling 80/20 Policy

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This professional learning session helps school counselors translate the 80/20 rule into practical, campus-based action. Participants will examine how the ASCA National Model and the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs call for counselors to spend at least 80% of their time in direct and indirect services to students—and why so many counselors find themselves pulled into non-counseling duties that dilute their impact and contribute to burnout. Through guided reflection, data-based decision-making, and real-world scenarios, counselors will learn how to analyze their current use of time, identify barriers to compliance, and develop strategies to realign their daily work with student-centered priorities.
