NAVEG TOT Training

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is the most common cause of visual impairment in developed countries. Unlike ocular conditions, CVI is a neurological visual processing disorder and can be challenging to diagnose, as it is typically identified through observed visual behaviors rather than findings from a standard eye examination.

Recently, a CVI screening tool for infants and young children, the Neonatal Assessment Vision European Grid (NAVEG), was developed to support early identification. The NAVEG examines three key areas of visual functioning: ocular visual components, motor visual components, and perceptual visual components. When a child meets a specific scoring threshold, results may indicate a risk for CVI and signal the need for further evaluation by an eye care professional.

This workshop is designed to provide participants with comprehensive training on administering the NAVEG screening. The two full-day training includes foundational background information and theory, paired with guided, hands-on practice of each screening component to support confident and accurate implementation.
