Make learning meaningful with task boxes that connect academic instruction to everyday skills! In this session, participants will explore how to create and adapt hands-on task boxes that build independence, communication, problem-solving, and daily living skills for students with sensory impairments. The Forces Unite team will share practical examples that integrate literacy, math, sorting, sequencing, and functional routines while incorporating tactile materials, accessible visual supports, and assistive technology.

Through demonstrations, classroom scenarios, and collaborative planning, participants will learn to match tasks to student goals, provide clear directions, and build routines that support independent practice. Educators will leave with practical ideas for designing accessible, purposeful task boxes that meet individual learning needs and promote real-world application.
