The Science of Reading Academy for Teachers is a targeted professional learning initiative designed to support educators serving students with the most complex learning and access needs, including students with significant cognitive and developmental disabilities, visual impairments, and limited or no expressive language.

This academy focuses exclusively on:
* Applying the Science of Reading to students who require explicit, systematic, highly structured, and accessible instruction
* Developing literacy readiness and critical foundational early literacy skills
* Ensuring all students have meaningful access to literacy instruction that supports future reading success

Rather than emphasizing grade-level outcomes, the academy prioritizes where to start instruction, how literacy develops for students with complex needs, and how to design instruction for access and engagement.
