Math for All! Designing Inclusive Mathematics Learning Environments—Whole Number Addition and Subtraction, Kindergarten-Grade 3

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This training is designed to build educator capacity in understanding how cognitive processes associated with disabilities, including dyslexia and related disorders, impact students’ learning of mathematics. Through hands-on activities aligned to elementary mathematics standards, participants will explore how these learning differences affect the development of whole number addition and subtraction.
In this session, participants will deepen their understanding of how to proactively identify and address instructional and environmental barriers using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. Educators will design and apply instructional supports, including assistive technology, to reduce the impact of disabilities and improve student access and achievement in mathematics.
Math for All! focuses on foundational math standards, but is relevant for any educator supporting students with foundational math needs. This session was developed by the Inclusion in Texas Network in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency.

Staff (campus and district) who supports students with disabilities in inclusive settings: i.e., general education, bilingual education, content specific, special education.
