Legacy Builders: Boys Building Character and Creating Their Own Legacy - Narciso Cavazos Elementary

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

The Counseling and Mental Health Department, in coordination with the RBMHL Grant, is collaborating with the Legacy Builders Program to provide targeted support for 5th grade boys at Narciso Cavazos Elementary.

The Legacy Builders Program is a data-driven, empowerment-based workshop designed to support boys in developing character, emotional awareness, leadership skills, and a strong sense of personal purpose. Through structured activities, guided discussion, and reflective journaling, students explore the impact of their choices while building confidence, resilience, and healthy relationships.

This program intentionally integrates literacy and life skills to strengthen reading comprehension, written expression, vocabulary development, and critical thinking. Students engage in meaningful writing experiences that allow them to explore identity, strengths, goal setting, and future college and career aspirations—connecting academic skills to real-life purpose and self-efficacy.

Participants will leave the experience with increased confidence in their voice, improved communication and writing skills, and a clearer vision for their future. Growth is measured through pre- and post-assessments, writing samples, and participation data to ensure meaningful impact on both academic and social-emotional development.

The Legacy Builders Program ultimately equips students not only to succeed in school but to begin intentionally shaping the legacy they want to leave behind.
