Project P.a.C.E. - 110: Aligning Lesson Objectives to Formative Assessments - MAY 2026 COHORT

This course helps teacher candidates understand how well-written lessonobjectives drive the design of aligned assessments that accurately measurestudent learning. Candidates will explore how the type and timing of anassessment—whether formative, interim, or summative—determine the kind ofdata collected and how that data informs instructional decisions. Teachercandidates will also learn how to develop diagnostic and formativeassessments that identify student readiness, monitor progress, and guideresponsive instruction. By mastering alignment between objectives, instruction,and assessment, candidates learn to plan lessons that produce meaningfulevidence of student progress at every point in the learning cycle.
