This collaborative working session between the Special Education Director and the Strategic Integration Liaison (SIL) is designed to support district planning for high-quality inclusion practices and Meaningful Access implementation. Grounded in MTSS, specially designed instruction, and inclusive instructional practices, the session will provide structured time to identify district priorities, clarify training needs, and align professional learning to current systems and student outcome goals.

Through facilitated discussion and planning activities, participants will examine areas such as co-teaching, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), specially designed instruction (SDI), paraprofessional supports, collaboration structures, and Tier 1 access for students with disabilities. The session will also focus on identifying the intended audience, determining implementation supports, and exploring delivery models that move beyond awareness toward sustainable implementation.

Participants will leave the session with:

A clearer understanding of district priorities related to inclusion and Meaningful Access
Identified focus areas for professional learning and capacity building
A proposed framework for training and implementation support
Consideration of short-term and long-term support options, including coaching and yearlong planning
Initial next steps aligned to district systems, MTSS structures, and instructional priorities

This session is intended to serve as both a planning conversation and a strategic working meeting to ensure professional development efforts are intentional, coherent, and responsive to district needs.
