Empowering Tier 1 Literacy Series: unlocking the Six Syllable Types: Session 3

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

In this session, participants will learn how to explicitly teach the six syllable types in English through modeled instruction and engaging multisensory practices. Educators will explore practical routines for introducing syllable patterns and embed meaningful word study activities into a TEKS-aligned ELA block for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. This session equips teachers with effective tools to strengthen decoding, spelling, and vocabulary development for all learners, particularly struggling readers and multilingual students. Understanding the six syllable types helps unlock the structure of English words, making pronunciation, decoding, and spelling more accessible and intentional for both students and educators.

Interventionist, Special Education Teachers, General Education Teachers.
