STAAR Accessibility and Accommodations for Special Populations: Navigating Designated Supports and Supplemental Aids

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This training provides testing personnel with a comprehensive review of TEA's accessibility policies for students receiving special population services. Participants will examine Accessibility Features, Designated Supports, supports requiring TEA approval, and allowable Supplemental Aids for STAAR assessments. The session will address eligibility requirements, decision-making considerations, implementation procedures, and documentation expectations. Through examples and case studies, attendees will evaluate the appropriateness of supports, identify common compliance concerns, and explore strategies for ensuring accommodations and supplemental aids are both allowable and effective in supporting student access to the assessment.
