Art-Based Approaches to Grief Support in School Settings

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

School-based mental health professionals are increasingly called upon to support students,
staff, and school communities through experiences of grief, loss, crisis, and collective trauma.
While many professionals are trained in verbal, cognitive, and behavioral approaches to
emotional support, fewer have had opportunities to explore arts-based and expressive
approaches grounded in trauma-informed and developmental frameworks.
This workshop introduces participants to art therapy-informed approaches for supporting grief
and loss within school settings. Drawing from clinical art therapy practice, trauma-informed
care, neuroscience, and developmental psychology, the training offers practical and ethically
grounded ways to support emotional regulation, expression, reflection, and meaning-making
through creative processes

Participation is available on a first-come, first-served basis for LEAD districts
