This executive leadership session provides district leaders an opportunity to examine the year-long implementation and outcomes of the Special Education Continuous Improvement Plan (SECIP) focused on improving reading outcomes for 4th-grade students with IEPs. Through a facilitated review of quarterly progress, student performance and growth data, instructional supports, MTSS implementation, and coaching efforts, participants will identify what the evidence reveals about both student progress and the systems supporting that progress.

The session will move beyond whether the original proficiency target was met to examine the district’s emerging pipeline to proficiency, including students who demonstrated meaningful growth and those positioned within reach of the Meets standard. Executive leaders will consider the implementation conditions that contributed to progress, areas where fidelity and consistency remain opportunities, and the role of leadership in strengthening alignment across MTSS, special education, curriculum and instruction, intervention, and campus systems.

Using lessons learned across all four quarters, the team will engage in strategic reflection around what to sustain, what to strengthen, and what to adjust as the district moves into the next improvement cycle. The session will conclude with leadership discussion around priorities, monitoring structures, and next steps needed to translate student growth into increased proficiency while building sustainable district capacity.
