South Texas College Cybersecurity Clinic

This presentation provides an overview of South Texas College’s Cybersecurity Clinic, the first initiative of its kind in the Rio Grande Valley. The clinic was established through a $467,909 National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. Led by experienced faculty, the clinic gives students who are nearing completion of an associate degree in cybersecurity or a Bachelor of Applied Technology in Computer and Information Technologies the opportunity to provide free cybersecurity services to under-resourced local organizations. This combination of community service and hands-on learning strengthens the region’s cybersecurity resilience while helping students gain practical, career-ready experience. The presentation highlights the clinic’s structure, services, and key outcomes from its first year of operation.
