This training will focus on the Unity software program available on the Accent (700, 800, 1000, 1200, and 1400), Vantage Lite and ECO2. Participants will be given an overview of the vocabulary options available and will learn how to use those vocabulary programs to create spontaneous novel utterances. Participants will be given teaching strategies to support Unity. Participants will also be introduced to basic device operations such as using the setup key to customize messages, changing icons, hiding keys, backing up the memory of the device, and keyboard emulation.

This training is appropriate for SLPs, OTs, ATPs, educators, family members, and others who support individuals who currently use or may need to use AAC devices.

Devices for this training are not required as the site is providing computers. If you choose to bring a device or laptop computer, please bring a Vantage Lite with software version 5.10; ECO with software version 3.01; Accent 1400/1200/1000/800 with software version 2.05 or higher; or laptop computer pre-loaded with the appropriate PASS software. If you want to use a Mac laptop you will need a Windows 7 emulator with PASS installed. PASS software is not compatible with iPads.
