Trauma Informed Care

In this training  school staff will be trained to recognize that students’ explosive anger, classroom outbursts, habitual withdrawal and self-injurious behaviors could be symptoms of traumatic stress, the result of repeated exposure to violence, abuse and neglect. Research shows that traumatic experiences can impact learning, behavior and relationships at school.  Educators will have a better understanding of a trauma sensitive approach when working with foster students to help them feel safe in school and help them learn.

Administrators, counselors, social workers/ CIS staff, Sp. Ed. Directors, Federal Programs Directors, Foster Care Liaison, PEIMS, and teachers.
