Literacy, Learning & Movement

This session will provide research-based strategies for supporting young children's learning through movement. Movement is a powerful teaching tool, and when teachers thoughtfully incorporate physical elements into instruction, we elevate the learning experience. Excellent instruction engages students intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Brain research indicates there is a strong relationship between movement and improved cognition. It also shows that movement can be an effective cognitive strategy to strengthen learning, improve memory and retrieval and improve the learner's motivation to learn.
